Cheese Sauce Recipe for Broccoli

You will be surprised how simple and easy making your own homemade cheese sauce for. To start, melt butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat.

Butter is very important to making your cakes and pastries come out perfectly.

Keep mixture on heat and whisk in the flour. Be sure to make a smooth batter, then cool completely before placing in an ice bath. Make sure that you’re working on the inside of the bowl. You may have to remove it from the heat. A whisk works fine, but a spatula makes the process of melting and incorporating the butter much faster.

By pre-measuring your spices, you’ll be able to dump them in at once without worrying about measuring them one by one. Stir the ingredients until combined well, so that one side of your sauce isn’t very spicy.

Whisk in the half-and-half slowly until the mixture begins to bubble around the edges. You don’t want it to get too hot or it will start to thicken up and it’s not going to do your hair justice.

Turn the oven to 425 F. Add the cheese to the bowl of eggs. Once all of the cheese is melted, turn off heat and stir in the eggs. You can use a whisk, a fork, a spoon, or a spatula to mix up the sauce.

COOKING TIP

Don’t add too much thicken your sauce, as it will prevent the mixture from mixing properly. You should add all the other ingredients in addition to the half and half or butter, but you should avoid making the sauce into a liquid base. If you want to alter your taste (trust me, I am good at over thickening to start, ha!) then don’t try this.
